PDO Threads
A non-invasive treatment to help with loose and sagging skin
About PDO Threads
PDO Threads are a type of non-invasive and non-surgical cosmetic treatment that helps reverse the visible signs of aging on the face and neck. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is a common chemical compound that has been used in surgical settings, specifically the suturing of incisions, for years. Now, polydioxanone has found a new life in thread lift treatments that perfect the appearance of skin.
What is a PDO Thread Lift?
Thread lifts have two goals for treatment; the first is to physically lift and tighten skin, and the second is to encourage the body’s own healing to prolong results. Thread lifts done with polydioxanone accomplish this by first pulling the skin into higher, more taut positions.
PDO Threads stimulate your body to build collagen in the area where the thread is placed. Over a few months the thread is absorbed by the body, but the collagen produced remains in place providing volume and lift that last and last.
Your injector will select the right combination of threads, which are then carefully placed to lift sagging skin.
How do PDO Thread Lifts work?
The duration of the result depends on the area treated and the number of threads used. Treatment of lines around the mouth, volumization for fine lines and lip enhancement can last 3-6 months, while lifting treatments for the brow, neck and lower face can last up to 2 years.
